Before lighting your candle for the first time, assure that the wick is trimmed to about 1/4” in length. You can trim your wick with a wick cutter or scissors.
To obtain an even burn and wax melt, burn the candle for at least 2 – 3 hours before blowing it out. Candle wax has memory and will tunnel, leaving wax along the side of the jar, if not given the foundation of an even burn.
Candles burn best on an even surface. Most surfaces are not perfectly even, so if you see that your candle is burning unevenly, rotate the candle 180 degrees every 30 minutes.
Trim your wicks between burnings. This will allow the candle to burn longer. If the wick is burned without trimming, it will create a larger flame and may lead to popping, smoking, and soot. If you are burning your candle for a long period of time and you see the wick acting up, simply blow out the candle, let it cool slightly, trim that wick, relight, and enjoy!
Burn time on your candle depends on the type of wax, fragrance, surface it is on, and the temperature of the room it is in. Therefore, burn time on the same size candle can vary.
The larger 16 oz candles emit a more intense scent profile due to the width of the jar opening and the double wicks. These are ideal for larger rooms. High ceilings and great rooms may call for more than one candle. Approximate burn time 65 hours.
The smaller 8 oz candles have a smaller jar opening, which will often give off a softer scent profile. The wicks used on the smaller width candles are a little bit thicker to make up for the smaller jar opening. These candles are best for smaller rooms, bathrooms, and kitchens. Approximate burn time 50 hours.
